Creating a Robust Tier II Intervention Toolbox in Schools
Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is tiered system designed to support increasing needs of students in school, both academically and behaviorally. However, when behavioral interventions are introduced in schools, Tier II or targeted group interventions are generally limited to Check-in/Check-out (CICO). If managed correctly, schools can create a robust Tier II intervention toolbox to meet the various needs of all students and ultimately reduce the students who need Tier III interventions. This session will focus on expanding a school’s Tier II toolbox to include attention and escape-driven behaviors, as well as supporting the social emotional needs of students. Participants will learn how to specifically align and manage Tier II interventions in schools to support all students. Materials will be provided for easier implementation.
